14 jun 2009 - Visiting Poland
Poland is situated in central Europe and is a country steeped in history with many interesting places.
It is a place full of unspoilt forests and national parks, Drawa National Park being one of them with an abundance of wildlife. The Notecka Primeval forest is a tourist free area and for those bat lovers there’s the Nietoperek Bat Reserve, an underground sanctuary for some of Europe’s rarest bats.

For those interested in World War II memorabilia, there is the infamous Auschwitz concentration camp. You can also wander through the Underground Bunkers built by the Nazis in the 1930’s. The Biskupin holds a fascinating archaeological site with iron age reconstruction and museum. Hidden away in a small western Polish village is the Paradise Cistercian Abbey. Another interesting place to visit is Zakopane, probably the most popular tourist place in Poland.
