Portugal is one of the oldest countries in Europe. It has many old churches, historic castles and monuments to visit. Visitors appreciate the peace and tranquillity of Portugals' many small villages. The coast is renowned for its beautiful long sandy beaches and crystal clear waters, overlooked by magnificient cliffs.
Lisbon is one of Europe’s most unspoiled cities. It has monuments steeped in history such as the ‘Tower of Belem' and the 'Monastery of Jeronimos'. In the 1990’s, to give the stations in the area more life, famous architects and artists covered the walls with chosen themes related to that part of the city. This became an example to be followed by others.
Downtown is the Baixa, a typical busy city, here you will find Lisbon’s oldest and most traditional shops.
With its sunny climate, beaches and interesting historic cities, Portugal is one of the favourite destinations for people looking for somewhere different to travel.
