In 2008, Liverpool became the European Capital of Culture, visiting this small but great city you will see why. With its many shopping centres, museums and art galleries there are many places to visit. Liverpool also offers a wide diversity of restaurants with different types of cuisine as well as typical English pubs selling traditional English food and beer.
‘City Sightseeing’ is an open tour bus operator that offers you an educational tour around the main sights of Liverpool. The tour departs every thirty minutes and each tour lasts one hour. The tour makes 12 stops and commences at the famous Liver Buildings; between stops you can experience sights like the war museum in Chapel Street or remain on the tour and visit Matthew Street, where you will see the Cavern Club, made famous by ‘The Beatles’ who often used to play there.
The Albert Dock is one of the main docks in Liverpool, steeped in history and has its own quaint shops to browse in as well as restaurants, café bars and its own museums.
