According to research by Gomez, five companies in the US aviation sector have the best performing mobile websites, being given the highest possible performance rating, much higher than companies in the banking sector. The number of sites achieving top scores is also increasing month on month. Sites were rated on various criteria including speed of download across different carriers, cross device and browser compatibility, and ease of use.
According to Matt Poepsel, vice president of performance strategies at Gomez, "The popularity of the mobile web is growing every day. End users are becoming less tolerant of slow or poor mobile web performance."
