05 apr 2009 - BBC offers mobile video streaming in UK
The BBC has introduced a 24-hour live television streaming service to mobile devices in the UK. There are currently eight channels offered, including five general news streams, one BBC Parliament stream, and CBBC and CBeebies children's programming.
The video displays at 176 x 144 pixels The service will not work over-the-air, and can be streamed to WiFi enabled devices only. The service will also only be available to UK residents.
At the same time the BBC has also launched a new mobile homepage, which gives users customization options such as a WAP version, the choice of more images and graphics, or the full-desktop version of the website.
